Collaboration, automatic cloud syncing, and the ability to take notes anywhere make Microsoft OneNote a popular choice for many people who need to take notes for class or record meeting minutes. But not everyone has Microsoft OneNote, so you may need to convert a OneNote notebook to another file format before sharing it with a collaborator. OneNote notebooks can be shared with others in a number of file formats, including Microsoft Word.
Step 1
Open the OneNote file you want to convert, click the “File” menu, and then click “Export” to bring up the Export screen.
Step 2
Choose a choice from the “Export Current” list. If you choose “Notebook,” the whole OneNote file will be exported.
Step 3
In the “Select Format” box, choose “Word Document.” Choose “Word 97-2003 Document” instead to keep your document compatible with older versions of Microsoft Word.
Step 4
Click the button labeled “Export.”
Step 5
Choose a place to save the new OneNote file, give it a name in the “File Name” box, and click “Save.”
